Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFLs) are one of the biggest ways we can take a step toward sustainability. CFLs use 80% less electricity than traditional incandescent lightbulbs. That means a savings of up to 15% off of your lighting bill. Furthermore, since 55% of America's electricity comes from coal fired power plants changing to a CFL keeps 500 lbs of coal from being burned. That also keeps 365 lbs of CO2 from entering our atmosphere. If every household in America changed just 5 lightbulbs, it would be the equivalent of taking 1,000,000 cars off the roads. Doing something small collectively can make a big difference!

Warmer and colder toned bulbs available. Warmer toned bulbs are generally used in bedrooms, living and family rooms etc, because of it's warmer toned inviting light. A warmer toned bulb will have a lower Kelvin(K) temperature. Which is the best way to measure which CFL to use. You'll generally see warmer toned bulbs labeled as 2700K - 3200K. Colder toned bulbs are generally used in bathrooms or kitchens because they give off a more harsh cooler toned light. This is the type of light you'll usually find in doctors offices, retail stores etc. and will carry a Kelvin temperature of 4700k to 5200k.
